Ride the world's largest rotating tram car from the desert floor at 2,643 ft to 8,516 ft in just 10 minutes. Access 54 miles of trails in Mount San Jacinto State Park. The temperature difference is 30–40°F — bring layers. Open year-round.
Walk among the world's largest native palm oasis in the tribal lands of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. The canyon walls tower 2,000 feet above crystal-clear streams. Wildflowers bloom February–April. $15 admission.
An unexpected desert oasis near Desert Hot Springs. Rare riparian habitat with 300+ bird species, cottonwood trees, and year-round stream. One of the most biodiverse spots in the Mojave. Free to visit, open daily at dawn.
Four trails ranging from 0.5 to 7 miles through stunning desert landscape. The Pushawalla Palms trail leads to a remote palm grove accessible only on foot. Best visited October–April. Free admission, managed by The Nature Conservancy.
